Sonia Rykiel creative director Nathalie Rykiel.The sleepy brownstone that houses Bobo, the restaurant in New York City’s West Village, was recently shaken awake by a barrage of stripes and rhinestones, courtesy of Sonia Rykiel pour H&M. Nathalie Rykiel, the label’s creative director and daughter of Sonia, along with actress Leighton Meester, heiress Amanda Hearst, stylist Philip Bloch, and model Chanel Iman, infiltrated the restaurant to celebrate Sonia Rykiel’s second collaboration with the Swedish retail giant. The first partnership, just in time for last Christmas, was lingerie: wide satin straps and ribbons of black. The line—H&M’s first designer collaboration to be sold in all 1,500 stores—was so successful that the retailer approached Nathalie about a second collection almost immediately afterward.
